The subway in Scotland has a warning that if you use “sectarian language” on the train you could end up in prison for five years.
Calling someone a Finian or a Hun is apparently worse than assaulting them.
Further perspective: the maximum sentence for manslaughter by gross negligence in Scotland is 6 years. So killing someone is only 20% worse than calling them a mean name.
Political correctness is so stupid.
Imagine going back in time and telling the ancestors of the Scots that in the future, their decedents will go to prison for five years for name-calling.
(This is not a new sign, I just saw it on v/European and thought it was worth posting. Researching it, it seems to have originally been posted in 2013. Shoutout to v/European and Voat in general.)
