Could it possibly be just a coincidence that the day after Trump won the Electoral College vote, a Tijuana, Mexico official has been arrested for money laundering, or is this another item to file under “Trump Effect”?
Less than three weeks after his swearing-in, a member of the Tijuana City Council was behind bars in San Diego on Tuesday on money laundering charges.
Luis Torres Santillan, 37, was taken into custody Friday afternoon by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Torres was arrested at the border after receiving a call that he needed to come in to renew his Sentri pass that allows expedited screening for program members, said his San Diego defense attorney, Anthony Colombo.
Torres is being held on $5 million bail at the San Diego Central Jail on ten counts of money laundering, according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. If found guilty of all counts, he faces a sentence of up to 15 years.
There is no mention of what type of criminal enterprise the money was being laundered for, but come on, this is Mexico we’re talking about. That means two things: Drug cartels and human smuggling rackets, both of which Glorious Leader has vowed to crush.

There are lots of little devils in the details of the story, one of them being that this criminal burro jockey has only held his office for sixteen days before being busted by our feds, but the really troubling thing is that he is an American citizen, holding office in Mexico, while living here. He’s basically the poster boy for the New World Order, his nationality being a mere matter of legality, with borders magically disappearing every day when he crosses into Mexico to rule over the little mestizos and crosses back to pretend he’s a real American, not just a taco bender with papers.
I bet he votes here too.
We have lots of work ahead of us, but if this “Mexican Elite” presents an example, then getting rid of the Mexicans will be the least difficult part. They’re stupid as hell if they can’t commit crime any better than this.
Of course, at least one Mexican official came forward to assure us that “Es un buen chico, no hizo nada.”
“He is an extraordinary young man… dedicated to his work,” Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum told reporters at Tijuana City Hall.
At the time of his arrest, Torres had been in office for only 16 days. Like Tijuana’s mayor, Torres is a member of Mexico’s National Action Party, the PAN.
Torres’ Facebook page describes him as an entrepreneur and head of the council’s public safety committee. He has been a member of Coparmex, an influential business group known for fighting corruption and championing transparency in government.
