Peggie Robinson, 61, was “suddenly attacked for unapparent reasons” at the home of Wolf Griffin on Evergreen Eve Crossing, according to Gwinnett County police.

Gwinnett County police investigators are still searching for a motive in the weekend murder of a Gainesville woman.

Peggie Robinson, 62, had just dropped off the son of Wolf Griffin at his home on Evergreen Eve Crossing in Dacula Saturday when police say he killed her.

The man’s step-father, Martin Williams, suspected something was wrong when Robinson’s car remained in the driveway, but she was nowhere to be found.

Police released the 911 call Williams made as he gathered his family and fled to Gwinnett Police Headquarters.

“I put everybody in the car (and) we came straight to the police station because something is going on,” he told the 911 operator.

Another witness told Channel Two Griffin had asked him to come over to work on a car that day. After the two pushed it into the garage, Jeremiah Vantroostenberghe says Griffin pulled the bloody body of Robinson wrapped in a tarp from the trunk.

“I’m going to say she was killed in the car with all the blood in the car,” he says.

Vantroostenberghe says he remained calm at first, but bolted through an open door the first chance he got.

When officers arrived at the home, they found body of Robinson and took Griffin into custody.

Wolf-Griffin
Wolf Griffin brutally stabbed the woman to death when she dropped his son back home for him. She had been acting as a go-between for the mother.

He is jailed without bond on one count of felony murder and aggravated assault.

Robinson is described as a close family friend of the boy’s mother who police say had dropped him off at Griffin’s home on numerous occasions.

“She was there doing what she had done before and, for whatever reason, the defendant attacked her,” Cpl. Troy Tobler tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.

Court records show Griffin had been involved in a custody dispute with the mother of the child since 2009 and the two were last in court in August.

“I not sure that a motive on this particular crime will ever be known,” says Tobler. “It will be left up to the judicial process to see how that plays out, however, right now it doesn’t appear there is any concrete reason as to why this attack occurred.”
