So are we ready to start talking sense?
AP:
Spain’s maritime rescue service says it has rescued 366 migrants attempting the dangerous crossing of the Mediterranean Sea this weekend.
The service says that its rescue craft has intercepted 73 migrants travelling in four small boats on Sunday, adding to the 293 migrants it pulled from nine vessels on Saturday.
Tens of thousands of migrants attempt to reach Spain and other southern European countries each year by crossing the Mediterranean in smugglers’ boats.
…
The U.N. says 636 migrants have died crossing the Mediterranean so far this year. A total of 22,439 migrants reached European shores, with 4,409 arriving in Spain, through the first four months of 2018.

Austria’s chancellor says European border guards should be allowed to go to north Africa to prevent migrants from setting off across the Mediterranean Sea in rickety boats.
Austria will take over the European Union’s rotating presidency in July. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz’s governing coalition took office in December after a campaign in which both partners talked tough on migration.
Kurz told Sunday’s edition of German newspaper Welt am Sonntag that a new mandate for EU border protection agency Frontex should allow it “to act in third countries, with the permission of their governments, to end smugglers’ dirty business model and prevent smugglers’ boats setting off on the dangerous route across the Mediterranean.”
Of course, the entire Mediterranean passage exists because the US and France decided to bomb Gaddafi because… because they wanted to help foreign terrorists do democracy. Or something.
I don’t think Kurz is going to get soldiers deployed in Africa. It’s good to have the idea out there, but I don’t think it is going to happen.
But it isn’t needed. We don’t need troops on the ground. All that is needed is for these boats to be turned around.
Right now you have NGOs in the water picking these “migrants” up just miles off the shore. If you prosecuted them for that, most of these boats would sink, and then they would stop sending them.
We’ve got all kinds of options that are less complicated and less controversial than deploying troops in Africa. And yet none of these simpler options are being employed, because there is a conspiracy to purposefully flood Europe with infinite brown people.
Remember that Merkel invited all of these people. She said the entire population of Africa is suffering due to the war in Syria, so they can all come live in Berlin on welfare.
And she is still the Queen of the EU.
So talk of deployment of troops in Africa ends up sounding a little bit weird. Like the actual issue itself is being talked around on purpose.
