We don’t really know what Madam Italy is going to do about the Russia issue. She lines up with Hungary on everything relating to the social issues, but as we’ve seen with the Republicans in America, you can be against gay sex, child trannies, and mass nonwhite immigration in your own country, but also want to fight Russia to force those things on the Ukraine.
It’s not reasonable or logical to be both right-wing and anti-Russia, but we see it, and Italy’s new “far right” PM Giorgia Meloni has voiced support for the Ukraine.
It would be awesome if Italy sided with Hungary. If they don’t, then their agenda to stand up against the EU doesn’t really mean anything, because without Russia, they can’t do anything.
RT:
Sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia over its military offensive in Ukraine have “backfired,” according to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who pointed out that skyrocketing energy prices in Europe were the result of the restrictions.
Speaking to parliament on Monday, the Hungarian leader warned that people should prepare for a “prolonged war” in Ukraine. He also stated that the EU’s response to the conflict was the reason governments across Europe have started falling, referring to Sunday’s elections in Italy where right-wing candidates were expected to take control of the government.
“We can safely say that as a result of the sanctions, European people have become poorer, while Russia has not fallen to its knees,” said Orban, whose country, like many in the EU, currently faces surging inflation, plunging consumer confidence and a possible recession. “This weapon has backfired, with the sanctions Europe has shot itself in the foot.”
“We are waiting for an answer, the entire Europe is waiting for an answer from Brussels on how long we will keep doing this,” he added.
During a meeting with MPs last week, the Hungarian leader reportedly instructed the country’s ruling coalition to work hard to have the EU’s anti-Russian sanctions scrapped by the end of the year, claiming the move would immediately result in gas prices being cut in half, in turn bringing down inflation, Magyar Nemzet daily reported.
Hungary doesn’t have the power to change the direction of the EU. No matter what happens with the war in the Ukraine, there are still going to be tens of thousands of American soldiers occupying Germany and directing the policy of the EU. That occupation will only end when the US Empire stumbles.
It’s possible that Hungary could change the direction of Hungary, however.
Viktor Orbán's government will be the first in Europe to ask its citizens about sanctions against Russia. This is how a true democracy works. @EU_Commission @Europarl_EN #EnergyCrisis pic.twitter.com/24l0jDLC16

It’s not clear if this is legal, but Orban is going for it.
DPA:
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has announced a referendum on the sanctions imposed on Russia by the EU due to the war in Ukraine.
“The sanctions were not decided democratically, but were decided by Brussels bureaucrats and European elites,” he said on Monday. “Although Europe’s citizens are paying the price, they were not asked,” he added.
Orbán has been raging for months against the sanctions imposed on Russia, even though Hungary has always voted in favour of the sanctions packages at the Council of the European Union, which has to take these decisions unanimously.
The country, however, was able to negotiate an exemption from the Russian oil embargo.
As part of a “national consultation,” the Hungarian government will be “the first in Europe to ask people about the sanctions on Russia,” Orbán said. He did not say when the vote would take place.
He’s putting himself in a situation where he could potentially face prosecution by a US-run EU court. There isn’t very much of a pretext of freedom in the EU anymore – it is nothing but pure democracy.
Ursula von der Leyen threatened to put the same sanctions on Italy she put on Hungary if Italy voted to elect Meloni, but the real reason for the sanctions on Hungary was not their policies towards gays, immigrants, or baby-murdering sluts, it was their policy on Russia.
Orban is proving to be a real leader in this time of crisis, and I salute him.
