Actually, it’s a double Oopsie, someone is most likely going to get fired over this outrageous, insensitive and very problematic outburst on twitter.
RT:
A chubby sea otter doesn’t need much help reaching iconic meme status, but Monterey Bay Aquarium tried to help one of its charges along by adding some sassy phrases to a tweet featuring the animal.
“Chubby?” Are you saying, being a girl with a little more is not perfectly healthy and acceptable? What are you, some kind of fat-shaming bigot? It’s 2019, for God’s sake!
To celebrate Abby, a rather substantial sea otter, the aqarium tried to emulate an innocent fat cat meme – but doomed itself by including a few slang words typically used to appreciably describe large black women.
Oh no, you didn’t. You better not dindu dat. Dat shit is rayciss man.
I am seriously triggered by the facts I am made aware of right now. I am literally shaking and feel very unsafe to say the least. Better call my doctor.
Okay, I just took a break from writing and called my therapist, Dr. Goldberg, to help me calm down, so I can actually take a look at this macro-aggression on twitter and finish reporting on it.
Let’s see, here it is.
Abby is a thicc girl
What an absolute unit
She c h o n k
Look at the size of this lady
OH LAWD SHE COMIN

Yes, that’s definitely racist. And fatist. When this goes to court, prosecution is most likely going to make a case that this is even a rare case of animalism.
Racism and fatism are class B felonies and fatism is a class D felony in California. So the tweetster is looking at 55 years to life.
Should have thought twice before he (must be a he and white) committed slavery all over again.
There's a reason we tell non-AA folks to avoid using AAVE: Our language, humor, and cultural references are borne from some of humanity's worst atrocities. If you haven't endured that pain, you can't know where the faultlines in our expression are. Please do better next time.

The Aquarium apologized, saying in a tweet:
Hey everyone. It has come to our attention that some of the references in this tweet are problematic and insensitive. We’re posting here in the thread so that people who have engaged with this tweet will join us in our learning moment.
An apology is not going to cut it. We want names and addresses and we want them now. I believe 6 months mandatory sensitivity training is in order for the Monterey Bay Aquarium staff and this twitter account must be handed over to a “well nurtured” female of color, to make certain it never happens again.
