When I heard about the World Cup being in Russia, I knew this was going to happen at least once.
I’d be surprised if it doesn’t happen 3-4 more times before the thing is over.
Naked men falling on you is just one of the risks you have to deal with in Russia.
A group of Argentinian World Cup football fans were left injured after a naked man fell from a window in Moscow.
The man died after plunging from a sixth-floor flat.
Two of the South Americans were hurt with one suffering with serious neck injuries while the other had a leg wound.
Three were knocked to the ground by the falling man.
An eyewitness said: “They were toppled like bowling pins.”
Yep.
In Russia they call that “человеческий шар для боулинга.”
The government has tried to stop it to no avail.
The fans were walking back to their hostel on Saturday night when the naked man “fell right on top of them” after their team’s 1-1 draw with Iceland.
According to reports, locals had seen the young man standing on the ledge before the accident.
It was also reported the man “swore and made rude gestures” before falling to his death.
“The moment the group of fans walked under the window, he lost his balance and fell,” according to one account.
Paramedics rushed the injured fans and the Russian man to hospital.
The man died in intensive care, according to Russian reports.
Same old story.
But Seriously Tho
I hope Russia does come away looking good and people have a good time there. I think mostly, things are going well.
I am of the opinion that Russia is trying to do too much of the whole “oh but we’re just like the West also” bit. I think they think they can be reasonable and meet the West halfway, but they just seem to genuinely not get that they are dealing with Jews and ideological extremists who simply will not meet them half way.
So I think that you know, the Olympics and the World Cup are probably very expensive for the country, and are not really proving what they are trying to use them to prove.
Part of it is maybe trying to appeal to the general public of the West. But that too… it seems unlikely.
I think Russia should be selling themselves as an alternative to the West, as the last remnant of Old Europe.
But… you all know how I feel about all that.
I won’t do the whole bit again right now.
