According to Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste, the suspect accused of shooting a Mobile Police officer Friday night has been captured.
Dajoune Devon DuBose, 18, is locked up at Mobile County Metro Jail, where he is being held Saturday on charges of attempted murder and first-degree receiving stolen property.
The officer reportedly pulled over a reported stolen vehicle shortly before 7 p.m. Friday. The suspect opened fire, striking the officer in the arm. Officials say the officer returned fire.
The shooting happened in the parking of the Walmart Neighborhood Market at the intersection of Cottage Hill Road and Hillcrest Road.
The suspect fled the scene and was on the run for several hours, police said.
