Andrew Anglin
Daily Stormer
November 9, 2014
A UK-based website, “The Drum,” has illegally defamed the person of Andrew Anglin, claiming that he is calling for violence against the Jewish terror-wench Luciana Berger.
The article is about the Jewess Berger’s complaints to Twitter about failing to stop our ongoing free-speech assault – and that is fair enough, this is news and I am not even bothered about being called a “Nazi troll,” as I have in fact referred to myself as such.
However, the magazine veers into illegal abuse of an upstanding citizen – Andrew Anglin – when it purposefully lies to the people about my own character.
John McCarthy of The Drum writes:
The Twitter campaign of terror crossed the Atlantic with Andrew Anglin’s Ohio-based fascist website, the Daily Stormer, urging further abuse and violence against the “Jewess Berger”.
He dubbed his call to action a “method of guerilla resistance after the Jewess had a young man named Garron Helm imprisoned for identifying her as a Jew.”
As I have been so absolutely explicit in my condemnation of all forms of violence, real or threatened, these is absolutely defamation of the highest order, given that they are accusing me of an illegal act.
While we are put in prison for telling the truth, criminal’s such as this John McCarthy are free to roam the tubes, engaging in whatever sorts of illegal acts meet their fancy.
This article at The Drum follows an article on the Sunday Times which you have to pay to read, but they presumably have the sense not to falsely accuse me of illegal acts which anyone casually browsing this site can witness that I have never engaged in.
I am interested in attempting to file a lawsuit against this criminal John McCarthy and the criminal Drum publication. If anyone is a lawyer, or knows a lawyer, please contact me. I don’t presently have the funds to hire anyone, but I could obviously win the case, given that this is so clearly a lie – you all remember my dozens of disclaimers, one attached to every article about Berger, one in the side bar of this site no matter what page you’re on – and there is no way for him or the publication to claim ignorance. This is also a crime he is accusing me of, and clearly damaging to my character.
Though I’ve no idea how overseas defamation suits would work, and it probably isn’t possible. Still, he should be shamed for this obvious lying in his reporting – how can a newspaper simply lie and expect to be taken seriously?
Is it okay to lie about us because we are Nazis? I don’t think they teach you that in journalism school.
Luckily, by the time I was aware of this act of defamation by the pudgy hipster John McCarthy, the troll army was already upon him.
For those interested, here is his Twitter.
Here is his blog, if you want to leave a comment there.
It is important that we jump all over this guy, to defend our own honor. Yes, I am the front for this, but he is insulting not only me, but all of you, our entire operation, with this illegal act of defamation.
I am going to push for a retraction with an apology. I would also like to see McCarthy fired, which is probably already a done deal, as long as we can get the attention on it. Regardless of the ongoing attempts to paint us as disreputable persons deserving of any abuses they can come up with, no publication wants to be known for reporting false information.
Beside trolling his Twitter, I would appreciate it if everyone could send an email to the staff of The Drum and inform them that they are breaching basic journalistic ethics with this article.
You can just copy this list of email addresses:
gordon.young@thedrum.com, stephen.lepitak@thedrum.com, cameron.clarke@thedrum.com, thomas@thedrum.com, katie.mcquater@thedrum.com, jessica.davies@thedrum.com, ishbel.macleod@thedrum.com, gillian.west@thedrum.com, angela.haggerty@thedrum.com, jen.faull@thedrum.com, john.glenday@thedrum.com, natalie.mortimer@thedrum.com
And send them this email (or your own version of it):
The Whom It May Concern,
I read your recent article on the trolling of Luciana Berger by Neo-Nazis, and was frankly appalled that you chose to purposefully report false information about this scenario by claiming that the Daily Stormer and it’s publisher Andrew Anglin are calling for violence against Berger.
Anglin’s site has a disclaimer in the sidebar explicitly denouncing violence, which reads:
“Disclaimer
We here at the Daily Stormer are opposed to violence. We seek revolution through the education of the masses. When the information is available to the people, systemic change will be inevitable and unavoidable.
Anyone suggesting or promoting violence in the comments section will be immediately banned, permanently.”
Along with this, every article he has written about Berger has contained an extra disclaimer, stating explicitly that he denounces all forms of violence, threatened or real, against Berger.
It is simply not possible that the author of this piece was not aware of this, and yet he chose to lie.
It is fine to disagree with Anglin’s politics, but by making these false claims about him you are breaching basic journalistic ethics.
If you are unfamiliar with journalistic ethics, you can read about them here:
http://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp
The appropriate thing for you to do at this point is to retract the statement, apologize to Andrew Anglin and dismiss John McCarthy, the writer who penned this defamatory piece of criminal “journalism.”
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
We need to make it explicitly clear to all of these people that we are not as stupid as they think we are, and that they cannot merely walk all over us. As I have said, any news outlet has a right to report on our campaign, they also have a right to insult us in any way they wish. They do not have a right to accuse us of criminal activity.
We are now officially a force of significant influence, and we must wield this power responsibly and intelligently.
Hail Victory.
Andrew Anglin
