President Donald Trump of America gave a weird, mumbling speech Wednesday morning.
While being surrounded by the entire SG-1 team in what many thought might be a declaration of war, Trump first rambled about how he’s going to stop Iran’s nuclear weapons, and called for more sanctions. He defended his assassination of Qasem Soleimani, and then said that actually, he wants peace with Iran.
He claimed that there were no casualties in Tuesday night’s attack by Iran on military bases in Iraq, which is probably not true. The entire Arabic media was saying that there were casualties.
He said that he absolutely does not want to use the military against Iran, and says actually, he wants to work with them to fight terrorism and other projects.
Trump is definitely trying to deescalate the current situation. But that just begs the question: why did he escalate it in the first place?
No one knows.
The speech also contained a lot of gibberish about Iran funding terrorism and so on, and Trump said he wanted NATO to get involved in the situation.
He ended the speech with a call for peace.
Notably, he did not even mention today’s crash and/or shoot-down of a passenger jet over Iran.
I don’t really have any comments on all of this. It is all just confusing and weird.
