There is a lot of emotion surrounding Trump.
For all of us, myself included.
People want to make excuses for him, or they want to lash out against him irately like a woman, or whatever. Virtually all discussion of Trump is based purely on emotion.
But in her latest column, Queen Ann has invited us to take a step back and consider the math.
The math is not good.

Apart from immigration, probably the single most important campaign promise Trump made was to end the carried interest loophole. Most Republicans would break out into a cold sweat if asked to raise taxes on George Soros. FINALLY, we had a Republican (or Democrat) who wasn’t beholden to Wall Street!
During the campaign, Trump said this tax scam allowed hedge fund managers to “get away with murder” and vowed to eliminate it. Americans who hadn’t voted for 30 years said: How do I register to vote?

(For someone unable to fulfill the most basic of his immigration promises, Trump has been amazingly competent in accomplishing the things Wall Street wanted, but no one else did.)

Now that… that is pretty gosh-darn damning.
And the most important thing here, more important than any of these other problems, is that he simply cannot win in 2020. It is not possible. It doesn’t matter who the Democrats put up, they will win, because Trump has literally abandoned all of his supporters in pursuit of an entirely new agenda that no one even understands.
He isn’t even bothering to use rhetoric.
He is just saying “this is about Israel, we’re stopping socialism, we’re going to have more immigrants than any time in history because of factories.”
He’s not even making a nod to the base. Or a nod to anyone other than Jews and big businesses who want more immigrants.
The good news is, we now have a candidate that knows math.
And the math is very simple.
The math is $1000 we steal from Jeff Bezos as revenge for taking our jobs.
We have to stop the robots and take their money.
