Media Attacks Trump for Not Believing Pompeo Claims of Russia Hacking

Real President Donald Trump is now being attacked for claiming without evidence that he isn’t sure about claims of Russian hacking that have been made by Mike Pompeo without evidence.

This is a totally lunatic headline from the lunatic CBC:

“Outrage: Trump says without evidence that he isn’t sure, contradicting Mike Pompeo, who is pretty sure.”

They are saying this. They are doing the Russian thing all over again.

AP:

Contradicting his secretary of state and other top officials, President Donald Trump on Saturday suggested without evidence that China — not Russia — may be behind the grave cyberattack against the United States and tried to minimize its impact.

In his first comments on the breach, Trump scoffed at the focus on the Kremlin and downplayed the intrusions, which the nation’s cybersecurity agency has warned posed a “grave” risk to government and private networks.

“The Cyber Hack is far greater in the Fake News Media than in actuality. I have been fully briefed and everything is well under control,” Trump tweeted. He also claimed the media are “petrified” of “discussing the possibility that it may be China (it may!).”

There is no evidence to suggest that is the case. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said late Friday that Russia was “pretty clearly” behind the cyberattack against the U.S.

Officials at the White House had been prepared to put out a statement on Friday afternoon that accused Russia of being “the main actor” in the hack but were told at the last minute to stand down, according to one U.S. official familiar with the conversations who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations.

It is not clear whether Pompeo got that message before his interview, but officials are now scrambling to figure out how to square the disparate accounts.

Pompeo said the government was still “unpacking” the cyberattack, and some of it would likely remain classified.

“But suffice it to say there was a significant effort to use a piece of third-party software to essentially embed code inside of U.S. government systems and it now appears systems of private companies and companies and governments across the world as well.

“This was a very significant effort, and I think it’s the case that now we can say pretty clearly that it was the Russians that engaged in this activity,” he said in the interview with radio talk show host Mark Levin.

Just so you understand: there is no evidence that any attack happened. The “evidence” that the media is referencing is Mike Pompeo’s word.

Trump on the other hand is not making a positive claim, he is just saying that if there was a hacking, it might have been China. It’s an obvious fact that if there was a hacking, it might have been China. It’s not something you need evidence for.

  • “There was a shooting – it might have been blacks.”
  • “There was a bombing – it might have been Moslems.”
  • “There was a Nazi vandalism incident – it might have been Jews.”

They’ve never once presented evidence for any of these alleged hacking events. Frankly, it is not even possible to present evidence for a supposed hacking event, given the nature of hacking.

This is what we do have evidence of: a concerted effort by the entire government to hoax a hacking event by Russia.

You can have evidence of that.

And we have:

  • Records of CIA director John Brennan telling Barack Obama that the claims of Russian interference in the election
  • Records of the FBI seeking a FISA warrant to spy on Donald Trump under the false pretexts of investigating a Russian interference campaign that they knew was faked by Hillary Clinton
  • Years of government officials going on TV claiming that there was a Russian conspiracy, while knowing it was a hoax by Hillary Clinton
  • Government officials, including and especially James Comey, repeatedly lying under oath before Congress about this Russian hoax

So, no: it is not outrageous to suspect that the government might be falsely claiming a Russian conspiracy – because the entire bureaucratic apparatus of the United States spent an entire three years promoting this hoax, including running a two-year investigation based on fake pretexts.

In fact, in order to believe that after a fake Russian hacking conspiracy ran from 2016 to 2019, that in 2020, a real Russian hacking conspiracy emerged, I think you would have to have some kind of mental illness.

“Yes, the government faked a Russian hacking conspiracy for three years but now, we have a real Russian hacking conspiracy on our hands” is a totally deranged statement that can’t be explained by stupidity. It can only be explained by bold, aggressive maliciousness, or by some kind of paranoid delusion.

Here’s an analogy:

Imagine this conversation:

Person #1: A young lady named Elizabeth Holmes has developed a device that can do blood tests rapidly by pricking your finger. She’s going to make a wearable patch that monitors your health and fixes your problems automatically. It’s really incredible technology, and she’s looking for investment. I think it’s a really smart investment.

Person #2: No, that turned out to be a hoax – she never had any device, she just spent years claiming she had it in order to make a bunch of money.

Person #1: Yes, of course, she faked it and it was exposed in 2018 that no such device ever existed, but now she’s developed it for real, and I’ve decided to invest in her company.

Person #2: But she literally spent years hoaxing this exact thing, she had no device, she had no background in science, she didn’t have anything. It was all just a hoax.

Person #1: Yes. And this time she’s done it for real.

Person #2: So this woman makes the claim that she invented an incredible, and probably impossible technology, and then it turned out that the entire thing was a gigantic money scheme and that she didn’t have any technology at all, or any solid background in science at all, and you’re saying that now she has happened to invent the same technology that she faked the first time?

Person #1: Yes.

Person #2: Well, I don’t believe that.

Person #1: You don’t have any evidence for not believing it.

That is literally the exact situation with Russia.

This is beyond the pale.

Mike Pompeo has to use a stick to pick his nose. Picking his nose with his sausage fingers would be like trying to thread a needle with a balloon animal.

This man is so out of control that he cannot manage his own food intake.

Why should he be allowed to manage American foreign policy?

Who even is this guy? Where did he come from?

An Infinite Gibberish Loop

By the way: the reason Trump is so opposed to making Russia the center of all of this is that the underlying claim is that Russia supports Donald Trump, and so any “hack attack” by Russia is de facto a pro-Trump attack against America. That is the established gibberish. When Russia is implicated in some event, the suggestion is that Trump is in on it.

Through this process, Trump is forced to look like he is defending Russia when he is actually defending himself, and this is then used as proof in this infinite gibberish loop.

You have it all in this story, created by Mike Pompeo:

  • Russia is randomly accused of a hostile action without proof
  • Trump says there is no proof
  • The media claims Trump is defending Russia
  • Trump is thereby defending someone who is attacking America

The Russia lunacy exists on its own, outside of the realm of reality or facts. It is just floating there.
