Memetic Monday: How About I Cream Your Crops, Homo?

These memes today might not be the cream of the crops. But I have never thought crops should really be very creamy anyway. Whenever I heard that phrase, I imagined like, a Dairy Queen Blizzard flavored by wheat.

Does that sound delicious to you, my dearest parasocial friend?

The point here is: I have a lot going on right now. When I had little going on, it was very easy to fill this page with stuff. Now that my cup runneth over with stuff to do, it’s more difficult. But I’m doing it for you. You will like the thing. You might not like it at first, actually. Many of you might be confused by the thing. You might be like “what the fuck is going on what is this what is happening right now oh my God what.”

Give it a year.

I hear your calls, my brethren.

And while I take issue with items 4-5, as a matter of factual reality, 1-3 and 6 are valid.

Items 1-3 are covered under “doing the thing.”

In terms of item 6. In terms of the site. In terms of that thing with the theme. I wish you knew. So I’ll tell you, so you will know. I did nothing. All of a sudden something updated or something or whatever. The site broke. For no reason or for some reason I am unaware of. So then, I tried to update the theme and it didn’t work. Then, I tried to buy the theme, spending $300 on three separate prepaid credit cards for 4 separate websites. And I was unsuccessful, probably due to not having a US phone number. So then I spent who knows how much crypto on US phone numbers. And none of it worked. This was now approaching 12ish hours of my life wasted. So then I tried a bunch of different free themes.

I think the current one is fine. Someone said it looks a bit off on a phone. I don’t have a phone but I can simulate that, and I will work on it (at some point).

If you want the old site back, buy the Sahifa theme, then post it on gameruprising. I think this can be done anonymously. But either way, I want it black, and I’m also going to rearrange it to have fewer items with bigger images.

When I started writing less, simplifying the site was actually a goal. Yes, it was fine for 10+ years, but I used to post a lot more, and I don’t think there were enough new items to fill the thing.

I plan to write more than I have been, but “more” as in 1-3 longish items per week, with a maximum of 5-7 items per week, which is not enough to fill that space that was designed for 70+ items per week. I’m not doing the news again. I don’t want to do that. I’m not going to do it. It had become a cruel grind with no reward for anyone but an insular group. It was probably over a million people, granted. At least close to that (I wasn’t tracking IPs obviously, I’m too ethical, and also the way the site is set up, it’s impossible). But this was not growing, it had shrank over time, and was certainly not close to what was happening in 2017. If I had been paid well, or if I’d enjoyed it a lot, maybe something would have been different, but those two things combined (no significant money or enjoyment) made it totally unfeasible to keep doing it.

I took some time off and a new thing struck me. Basically, the eureka moment was the realization that the “alternative media,” designed to push back against the “mainstream media,” has become as big as the thing it was pushing back against, and has somehow become even more ridiculous and unaccountable than the thing it was seeking to replace on the grounds that the previous thing was ridiculous and unaccountable. “Who watches the watchers,” you know? That’s the core concept here: a watching of the watchers. The fact that I hate most or perhaps all of the watchers helps quite a bit.

The written alternative media is very minor, most of it is video, so it makes sense for me to do video, and that is also a new challenge for me. I understand that I am a much better writer than speaker, so this decision may seem counterintuitive. However, if I’m actually struggling to do the thing, challenging myself, the product will be better. At least eventually. I’m certain it will take some time. I understand I still say “um” a lot. We are working on the ums. I like a bit of ums. But this is the way AI does me:

That is truly a lot of umming. Many or perhaps most would say it is too much umming.

If the new thing doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. Okay. I’ll go back to writing, or think of some other thing, or whatever.

But I’m pretty sure it is definitely going to work. Obviously, I will still have the censorship problems. But maybe a smaller AV project will make more money than a written word project. It’s also possible there will be some new audience that prefers video. Probably not nearly enough to compensate for the people who would rather read daily news coverage. But whatever. It’s whatever. It’s the thing I want to do and therefore I shall do it and if it doesn’t work then that is what it is.

The goal is to have the thing done by Valentine’s Day, which is the day I stopped daily news updates. It probably won’t be done by then. More likely, mid to late March. I probably shouldn’t even mention “Valentine’s Day,” because then people will think that’s the starting date, and hold me to it, but here’s the deal: hold me to mid-April.
