Memphis Police Disband Black “Brotherhood of Scorpions” That Killed My Boy Tire

I usually side with the cops, but this time the cops are black so I’m siding with the criminals.

Nah, I mean, this was outrageous. They just totally killed that nigga.

They were like “this Tire thinks he’s rolling? We ain’t about that because we’re the Scorpions.”

RT:

The Memphis Police Department has disbanded a controversial street crime unit whose officers beat 29-year-old Tyre Nichols to death earlier this month. The alleged murder of Nichols set off a wave of protests in the crime-ridden city.

“It is in the best interest of all to permanently deactivate the Scorpion unit,” Police Director Cerelyn Davis said in a statement on Saturday. Davis added that the officers of the unit agreed “unreservedly” with her decision.

Davis’ announcement came a day after the city of Memphis released body camera footage showing the death of Nichols. Five officers can be seen punching and kicking the man, as well as pepper-spraying and striking him with batons. Nichols attempted to flee after he was dragged from his vehicle at a traffic stop. After his motionless body was handcuffed and propped against a squad car, the officers are seen congratulating each other and exchanging fist-bumps.

Nichols died in a hospital three days after the incident, and the officers involved have been fired and charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct, and official oppression. All five officers and Nichols are black.

An internal investigation found that the officers “violated multiple department policies, including excessive use of force, duty to intervene, and duty to render aid,” Davis said in a statement last week.

The Scorpion unit, which stands for ‘Street Crimes Operation to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods’, was formed in November 2021. Its 40 or so officers were tasked with patrolling “high crime hotspots” in the city, with a particular focus on gang- and drug-related crimes.

Jason Whitlock had a good segment on Tucker Carlson about this. He said they’re bringing back BLM to distract from the Ukraine war, which is something I had also mused about.

If it’s a distraction, it could well be a distraction from a strategic deescalation.

I know I keep shilling it, but that RAND report saying the US is losing and should end the war is a very big deal.

Related: So RAND Says the US Lost the Ukraine War and Should Surrender. What Next?

The common wisdom was that after the US realized it couldn’t collapse the government of Russia, it would back off. RAND can’t come up with a reason they wouldn’t back off at this point, and I think that is a reality that is going to be setting in over at the Democrat Party.

You have all of these media zombies supporting the war, and they might be disappointed when it becomes obvious Brandon is surrendering, but they can be easily distracted with this gibberish about black oppression. Remember when these same people forgot all about the coronavirus when they started the Ukraine war up. They will quickly move on to whatever the media tells them to move on to.

Of course, it could also be a distraction from an escalation. I’m not 100% convinced that the US is actually going to back down. There are more indicators than just the RAND report, but none of them are conclusive.

However, if it was an escalation, it doesn’t seem like you’d want to distract your own war cheerleaders. You’d want them as engaged as ever. Right-wingers are harder to distract generally, just because for all of their flaws they do have a bit more independence of thought and personal agency. But if you really needed to distract them, you would do some kind of Hunter Biden investigation.

So if you work through all of that, it actually seems like the return of BLM is a point in favor of the theory that they are preparing to deescalate.

Again: I’m just working this through. Don’t come at me when they escalate and say “YOU SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DEESCALATE YOU ARE SO WRONG.” I have an absolute rule against making hard predictions. You might say “well that’s just a way for you to avoid getting called out for being wrong” but that is a totally bizarre way to look at it. I do not have the ability to predict the future, and I don’t have any sources in the Pentagon, so it would be ridiculous for me to make a hard prediction.

What I am doing, what I always do, is look through the data and analyze what it appears to mean and then say what I think is most likely. All regular readers know that this works about 95-97% of the time. Because I’m just that smart.

In this case, I’d say it’s 70-30, deescalation-escalation. They have to do one or the other, because their frontline has collapsed, and a couple dozen tanks (which no one knows how to operate or maintain) is not going to fix that. Basically, they have to send in American pilots to fly bomber jets or they have to start to wind it back.

The wind-back would probably involve secret negotiations which you wouldn’t hear about for a long time, possibly through France, and then you’d see Russia draw a line at the river and both sides slow down.

Again, it’s not really good news. It just means they’re moving over to China, and they’re probably going to start up some kind of conscription, or collapse the economy and tell people that joining the military is the only way they can eat.

Speaking of Jason Whitlock…

Whitlock is really the only genuine Christian who is still allowed on Fox News at this point.

I would very much like to see him call out Tucker Carlson for endorsing so-called “anal marriage.”

Whitlock might not be willing to risk burning that bridge, but there is no one else who has the ability to confront Tucker on this (unless he gets groyp’d at a public speaking event), and it is obviously the right thing to do.

Tucker’s endorsement of “anal marriage” is an attack on Christianity and all Christians. It is beyond the pale. Every Christian has an obligation to confront him, and Whitlock is the one with that access.

I just tweeted this to him:

We should all be asking Whitlock to do this. Really, by not doing it, he is sharing in Tucker’s guilt, promoting this very uniquely evil sin that cries out to Heaven for vengeance.

I hate to put the guy on the spot. But that’s the truth of it.
