Considering that the victim had been previously convicted for possession of heroin and methadone, it’s likely this was a botched drug deal.

The Post-Star:

A South Glens Falls man has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing another man to death at the ClearView Motel on Saturday, police said.

Juan A. Vasquez, 46, is accused of stabbing 30-year-old Kenny J. Shipski Jr., also of South Glens Falls.

The South Glens Falls Police Department responded to the motel at about 7:09 a.m. Saturday. Officers found Shipski dead in a room at the motel.

A preliminary investigation determined that he was stabbed multiple times, according to a news release from State Police, the agency handling the investigation.

Vasquez was charged with second-degree murder and tampering with a physical evidence in connection with the killing. He was arraigned in Moreau Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail without bail.

Police have not said what led to the stabbing.
