A man has been held without bail in connection to a double homicide in Providence, according to police.

Authorities said Jose Diaz Marmolejos, 33, who was charged with two counts of murder, appeared in court on Monday for an arraignment.

Police said they responded to the train tracks near 135 Harris Avenue on Friday night just after 6:30 p.m.

They said they located a parked SUV with two dead bodies inside, later identifying them as Hailey K. Bennett and Ostwald “Danny” Sanchez.

Through the help of surveillance video and other evidence, police said they learned that the crime occurred in Central Falls, adding that the investigation remains ongoing.
