A now-retired 79-year-old middle school employee has been arrested for allegedly sending inappropriate texts and Snapchat messages to an underage child.
Sue Ann Asch was accused of contacting the minor, who knew her, with the inappropriate material in September, the same month she retired as a paraprofessional at Kalkaska Middle School in Michigan, according to UpNorthLive.
Michigan State Police in Houghton Lake began investigating her after receiving a report that she was texting and messaging the unidentified youth on the social media app, according to MLive.
After the victim was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Traverse City, search warrants were obtained for Asch’s home and several electronic devices were seized, police said.
The devices were sent to the State Police Computer Crimes Unit to be analyzed.
Authorities have not released details about the messages.

This whole “age of consent” business creates very uncomfortable situations not just for the participants in the acts, but for the whole world. We should not be hearing about this stuff.
As far as this woman’s age… well, that seems to fit into Anglin’s theory that this has been going on forever, and we’re hearing about it now only because:
- The digital records exist, and
- Society is no longer discrete about sexual matters
The only way this makes sense is if this old woman had spent her career having sex with school boys, and was feeling lonely in retirement and looking for one last torrid affair.
It seems clear that all female teachers have always done this.
