Mixed-Race Couple Charged with Murder of Elderly White Man

Donald Ray Gunter was discovered dead in his own home in suspicious circumstances.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has charged two people with first degree murder in connection with a suspicious death reported earlier this week.

Amanda Harris and Mario Keene are charged with killing Donald Ray Gunter on Old Mountain Road February 10th.

They are being held at the Greene County Detention Center on $600,000 bonds pending their first court appearance Friday February 14th.

Update Thursday 11 a.m.:
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department said its located two persons of interest in connection with a recent suspicious death.

Officials said Amanda Kate Harris, 27, and Mario Donte Keene, 39, were located on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities had asked the public’s help earlier this week in finding the two individuals.

Authorities are trying to locate two people who may have information about a suspicious death in Greene County.

Sheriff Steve Burns said Donald Ray Gunter, 69, was found deceased in his Old Mountain Road home Tuesday just before noon.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is working with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on the investigation. They are looking for two “persons of interest” who may have information pertaining to this investigation, and are asking for the public’s help in finding Amanda Kate Harris, 27, and Mario Donte Keene, 39, who is also known as Rio. They may be driving a gold 1998 Cadillac Catera with Tennessee license plate 894-RCW.
