Country star Morgan Wallen has completed his $500,000 donation pledge to black-led groups, which he made in the wake of scandal over his use of a racial slur.
Wallen donated the remaining $100,000 of his $500,000 promise to the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, the country star’s manager Seth England told Fox News Digital.
The singer has also donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC), and another $100,000 to Rock Against Racism via Big Loud Records, the outlet reported. BMAC has reportedly redistributed $135,000 of the $300,000 to other organizations.
Wallen has been under attack since last February, after a video was published showing him using the N-word after a night out with his friends.
The singer publicly apologized for using the racial slur, stating, “I’m embarrassed and sorry,” adding, “I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”
But the cancelation attempts nonetheless followed, as the chart-topper was dropped by radio networks and major streaming platforms, as well as his talent agency, WME.
Wallen was also banned from last November’s American Music Awards (AMAs) in Los Angeles — despite having been nominated for two awards: favorite country album and favorite male country artist.
Despite having been nearly completely blacklisted from the country music scene, the singer also had the best-selling album of 2021, outperforming artists like Adele, Olivia Rodrigo, and Drake.
Earlier this month, Wallen performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, which sparked backlash among some, including Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jason Isbell, who reacted by complaining, “I’m real sad for a lot of my friends today.”
Rot in hell, Jason.
It just makes me sick.
Jason Isbell used to be a poet for the burned out rural South, telling their stories, then he stopped drinking and got some whore woman involved with him and moved to Nashville. Now he’s Mr. Anti-Racist, Mr. Soros Global Initiative. Next he needs to start speaking out for trannies.
By the way, this is all a gigantic hoax – Wallen didn’t do some Michael Richards style rant, screaming “shut up niggers!” at actual black people.
What he did was something that I think every millennial did – ironically saw a white friend and was like “hey, what up nigga?” I still do this.
Don’t we all do this? It’s because when we were kids in the 1990s, there was always this rap music around, and for whatever reason, ironically using black slang became a part of white culture. I guess as a psychological defense against it.
I’m not talking about actual wiggers (who also existed and were kind of like trannies), but I remember in high school and whatever, we would regularly use these phrases, like if you wanted your friend to stop by your house, you’d say “swoop by my crib, nigga.” It didn’t even vaguely relate to racial hatred, it related to MTV constantly playing 2 Pac and Dr. Dre and so on, and it was just funny to use this language.
You can even say that phrases like “just chillin'” are kind of ebonics “loan phrases.”
You keep some of these quirks from your teen years. If I’m sitting around at a bar or whatever waiting on a friend, I’ll text “nigga where u at?” That has no relation to race hate and only has to do with blacks insofar as black culture was made into mainstream culture during my developmental years.
That’s what Wallen did and everyone knows that’s what he did.
Isbell is from Alabama and I guarantee you he’s used “nigger” non-ironically, and he’s probably on tape doing it, and that’s probably part of why he’s acting like such a faggot.
But seriously – go to hell, Jason.
I used to at least be a respecter of your solo stuff, and now I think the music sucks and you suck, but I still can’t even believe how big of a faggot you are.
