The Missoula Police Department formally files charges against a University of Montana foreign student for sexual assault.
The incident in question happened two weeks ago on UM property, after the alleged victim called UM police to report a rape.
Sgt. Jim Klawitter says that Fazlidden Sharipov, who is a 27-year-old Tajikistan national, is arrested on five misdemeanor counts of alleged sexual assault of a female student.
Authorities took her to First Step for care, and the case was handed over to the Missoula Police Department for an investigation.
Missoula Police informed the Tajik consulate, as well as immigrations before Sharipov was arrested on Thursday.
