AJC:
Two teenage brothers are being charged as adults in the shooting death of a 66-year-old woman whose body was discovered Friday morning in a DeKalb County home, authorities said Monday.
Deborah Vinson was found dead in her home on Whittondale Road in Redan, according to DeKalb police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent.
Khalil Graham, 16, and Jaquan Graham, 15, have been charged with murder and burglary in connection with the woman’s death, Vincent said.
DeKalb police arrested Khalil Graham on Friday. Jaquan Graham was taken into custody the following day.
Vinson’s body was discovered about 8:15 a.m., according to police. Officers were called to the house to perform a wellness check.
A beige 2008 Honda Civic was also reported stolen from the residence, according to an incident report.
A separate report confirms that the victim was white.
Police have two teen brothers in custody, accused in the death of a woman during a burglary attempt.
Just after 8 a.m. on Friday, a white female in her 60’s was found fatally shot at her home in the 5400 block of Whittondale Road. At that time police did not have any suspects in custody.
By 8 p.m. that night, police had detained a 16 year-old from the home across the street from the victim. Police say evidence found inside that home implicated the teen to the homicide investigation.
On Sunday night, police then arrested the suspect’s 15 year-old brother.
