A Florida sheriff’s deputy has been charged with child abuse for choke slamming a 15-year-old girl at the school he worked at, authorities said.
Willard Miller, who worked in the Broward County sheriff’s office, was caught on video slamming the girl to the ground after she nudged the back of his knee with her foot on Sept. 25.
The footage shows Miller texting on his phone in a room with the 15-year-old and two other women at the school for children with behavioral problems.

The 15-year-old girl then walks up behind Miller and pushes the back of his right knee with her foot, causing it to buckle.
Miller and the girl then talk to one another from across the room for about a minute, according the to video, which does not have sound.
He then suddenly confronts the girl, lifting her up by the neck and slamming her to the ground, the video shows.
Miller then forces the kid onto her stomach and restrains her arms behind her before lifting her up and shoving her into a wall.
He was charged Tuesday with felony child abuse without great bodily harm. Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony suspended Miller without pay pending an investigation.
