New McCabe Book: FBI Made Plans to Overthrow Trump, Replace Him With Pence

Information is coming out now that the Justice Department was planning a coup against Trump.

CNBC:

Justice Department officials were so concerned about President Donald Trump’s fitness for office in May 2017 that they discussed whether Trump could be removed from office by convincing Vice President Mike Pence and a majority of the president’s Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe reportedly says in a new interview.

Those discussions came on the heels of Trump’s dramatic firing of FBI Director James Comey on May 9, 2017, according to McCabe’s interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” scheduled to air Sunday evening.

Pence, during an interview with NBC News on Thursday, said he was never aware of any discussion of invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.

“I’ve never heard any discussion of the 25th Amendment by members of the government and I would never expect to,” Pence said. “Frankly I find any suggestion of it to be absurd.”

McCabe’s interview with “60 Minutes” is part of a promotion effort for his new book, “The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump.”

More like “The Coup: How the FBI Has Been Plotting to Take Out Trump Since Day One.”

This guy has quite a sack on him though, hey.

He’s basically telling the American public in no uncertain terms that the FBI was involved in a criminal conspiracy against a sitting president and continues to undermine his agenda.

Trump, and by extension America, must really be shoulder-deep in shit if they can so brazenly talk about this sort of thing. Brag about it even. Incredible stuff.

Pelley said Thursday that McCabe confirmed prior reports that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein offered to wear a recording device during his meetings with Trump. The Justice Department has said Rosenstein’s offer was a sarcastic one.

But Pelley said McCabe told him that the offer “came up more than once and it was so serious that he took it to the lawyers at the FBI to discuss it.”

On Thursday, the Justice Department reiterated its denial of McCabe’s claims about Rosenstein, and said that Rosenstein did not believe there were any grounds to remove Trump from office via the 25th Amendment.

I’m not sure what a wire would have accomplished. That part never made sense to me.

Also – remember all those people on our side who thought the Mike Pence pick was a bad idea?

Well, it turns out that these anonymous skeptics were right. The FBI conspirators were “counting noses” trying to figure out if they had enough of the President’s cabinet on their side to make their move, and seemed to think that Pence would make a fine replacement.

The Alt-Right was anti-Pence back in the day precisely because it feared this sort of scenario coming to pass.

Naturally, Trump probably did not even consider this.

But he did spend Valentine’s Day tweeting about how much he hates McCabe.

Honestly, Trump should save his wrath for the people still in the FBI.

McCabe’s desire to make some shekels from his book seems to outweigh any oaths of secrecy he might have taken, and he’s spilling the beans to the public.

Trump should thank him for confirming that there was an FBI plot against the President and then drive home the point that there still is and that it’s necessary for him to “execute order 66” and fire/line up against the wall everyone in the FBI.
