The real evil?
Oh, goodie.
We can’t take our anger out on Moslems, so let’s take it out on this woman who doesn’t have the emotional energy to cry about endless attacks by Moslems.
A British woman has claimed her shopping trip to Nice was ‘spoiled’ when a terrorist gunman killed 84 people and seriously injured 50 more after he drove a 25-tonne lorry into crowds celebrating Bastille Day.
The tourist, named as Lucy Nesbitt-Comaskey, told Sky News: ‘Maybe this is awful and maybe a bit selfish but it did spoil our shopping trip.
‘We bought all this lovely shopping and now I can’t be bothered with it. It doesn’t mean anything now,’ she said.
On Friday morning, Nesbitt-Comaskey issued a grovelling apology for her remarks via Facebook. She claimed that she was understandably ‘in shock’ at the time after witnessing the horrific events and misspoke while speaking to journalists.
‘My sincere condolences to the French people who have lost their loved one’s today in Nice.
‘I’m deeply sorry if my interview with Sky News sounded uncompassionate. I was totally distressed and shocked. My words came out wrong. Once again sorry,’ she said.
In my professional opinion (I am a professional social commentator), this woman did nothing wrong.
We are being asked, constantly, to extend endless amounts of emotional energy on these now weekly terrorist attacks, while being offered no context for the emotions we are being ordered to pour out. The natural response to this is to shut down emotionally, as it is impossible for the mind to process, and impossible to continue to feel these demanded emotions indefinitely.
This sorrow for the dead should naturally be followed up by anger and the perpetrators – the is the way humans naturally process acts of violence – but you aren’t allowed to be angry at the perpetrators.
This authoritarian demand that you must feel sorry for people killed by Moslems while also being barred from blaming Moslems for Moslem attacks is pathological.
As such, Ms. Nesbitt-Comaskey’s response to this situation is perfectly acceptable.
