Non-White Thug Left Man with Serious Injuries After Surprise Attack in Restaurant

A man was left with serious injuries after an unprovoked attack in a Coventry fast food restaurant.

Detectives need help to identify the man in the footage below after the assault left a 24-year-old with a broken jaw and eye socket.

The attacker entered Express Diner in Gosford Street where he caught his victim off guard and knocked him to the floor with a single punch.

It happened at around 4.20am on 12 October 2014. The suspect is described as Asian or mixed race, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, medium build and aged in his early 20s. He was wearing a baseball type jacket with dark sleeves and a light body.

Detective Constable Sam Wale, from Force CID, said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack against a man who had no idea he was about to be targeted.

“He suffered really nasty injuries and has been left with lasting pain to his face.

“We want to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the footage and can help us identify him.”
