In a rare public sermon Friday morning, Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Iranian revolution, called on all Moslems to stand united against Jews.
The speech is good, though without surprises. What is important is the context. With their strike on Israel, the Iranians currently have the entire Islamic world looking to them. Many Sunnis, obviously, are hesitant to embrace the Shia power, but I have watched a lot of videos of Sunnis celebrating the attack on Israel and saying “Shia and Sunni, we are one Islam.” This is a sentiment that is rising across the Islamic world, and the Ayatollah clearly wanted to make these public statements in order to show the Sunni world that Iran is humbly asking for nothing other than brotherhood.
Meanwhile, the president of Iran met with the Saudi Foreign Minister yesterday, and various statements were made which demonstrate that Saudi is very much open to burying the hatchet completely. Last year, China started the peace process between Iran and Saudi and was able to end the Yemen proxy war the two powers were engaged in. Now, it’s looking like an alliance could be possible.
Of course, Saudi is still very much connected to the Americans, so there is no way of knowing where things are going to go, and I am certainly not declaring that a totally radicalized anti-Jew Saudi Arabia is around the corner. It might not even be possible, given how deeply penetrated Saudi Arabia is by the Mossad. Who knows. I don’t know.
What I do know is that the people of the entire Islamic world are coming together against the Jews, and this is a very good development for anyone who would prefer the Jews be dislodged from their position as the dominant power on earth.
