Met Police:

A man who stabbed his wife in the chest after they rowed over him contacting other women on Facebook, has today, 13 July, been found guilty of her murder.

Jamshaid Khan, 30 (21.03.85), a construction worker, of Nigel Road, E7, was convicted at the Old Bailey of killing Milena Yulianova and will be sentenced on Friday, 17 July at the same venue.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Andrew Kelly, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “We will never really know what happened between Milena and her husband that afternoon as she is sadly not here to tell her side of the story.

“However, the jury were satisfied Khan deliberately stabbed Milena in the midst of their altercation and I am pleased with today’s verdict.”

On Tuesday, 28 January 2014 at 15:00hrs police were called by the London Ambulance Service to reports of a stabbing at an address in Nigel Road.

Milena, 27, was found inside with stab wounds to her chest and arm. She was being helped by members of the public who were trying to revive her.

Khan was also at the address and told officers he had acted in self-defence against Milena, whom he had been married to for 15 months. He was arrested at the scene, initially for grievous bodily harm with intent, and taken into custody. The weapon, a kitchen knife, was found on the living room floor.

Jamshaid Khan had been caught looking at other women on Facebook when he killed his wife.

The victim, a Bulgarian national, was taken to Newham General Hospital where she died at 22:22hrs that evening.

One of the men who administered first aid told police he had been in a nearby takeaway in Romford Road when someone said a man had stabbed his wife down the road.

He looked down Nigel Road and saw Khan, who had blood on his hands, leave his house. He saw Khan stop a passing car to ask for help, saying he had just stabbed his wife.

The witness came to assist and told Khan to go back to the house which he did.

The witness, with other passers-by, then began first aid until paramedics arrived.

In police interview Khan told officers he and Milena had argued over him talking to other women on Facebook. He claimed she then pulled a knife from behind her back. He tried to grab it and they struggled. During the altercation he said Milena was struck with the blade.

He said he finally managed to grab the knife and throw it out of reach before Milena collapsed and he ran for help.
