It was lunacy to charge Kyle Rittenhouse with “murder” for defending himself when he was attacked by men with weapons, including at least one with a gun.
The whole thing is a farce, and they’re pushing it as far as they can.
Wisconsin prosecutors filed a motion Wednesday requesting an arrest warrant and bond increase for Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager charged with killing two people during protests in Kenosha last summer.
The Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office alleged that Rittenhouse, 18, violated the conditions of his bond by failing to notify the court of his changed address, which makes it harder to monitor his whereabouts. A notice for a hearing was returned to the sender without a forwarding address, according to a court filing from Thursday.
Mark Richards, an attorney for Rittenhouse, filed a response to the motion and provided NBC News with a copy Wednesday evening. According to the motion, Rittenhouse was moved to an undisclosed safe house by his previous defense attorney, John Pierce, after the teenager received numerous threats.
“While completing paperwork related to Kyle’s release, Attorney Pierce was directly informed by a high-ranking member of the Kenosha Police Department not to provide the address of the Rittenhouse Safe House because of the numerous threats made against Kyle and his family,” the response said.
(One of his previous attorneys was Lin Wood, by the way. So it’s possible there could have been a little bit of paranoia involved in the decision.)
Prosecutors argued that because Rittenhouse did not post the bond himself, he has maintained a careless attitude and has little incentive to comply with his bond conditions.
“After all, it is extremely unusual for a defendant facing a charge of First Degree Intentional Homicide in Kenosha County to post cash bond and be released from custody pending trial,” the motion said. “Rarely does our community see accused murderers roaming about freely.”
Yeah, well, rarely does the community charge people with first degree murder when someone attacks them and they shoot back.
This is just totally blatant harassment and abuse of a political prisoner.
These very same prosecutors attacked him for singing the song from Aladdin at a bar, saying that he shouldn’t be allowed to go to bars because that presents the threat he might sing a song from a Disney film.
They’re not even attempting to pretend this isn’t political.
In general, the government that controls us is done pretending. The mask is off.
I think the general situation bodes badly for Our Boy Kyle. However, it could be that they let him off for the purpose of causing a riot.
What is certain: justice is dead in America. If you get in a car crash after Antifa attacks your car with bats and a 350 lb woman has a heart attack, it’s murder. Memes are election meddling. Protests are terrorism.
It’s out of control, and we’ve basically become the real world version of how American propaganda has depicted Germany under Hitler or Russia under Stalin. Once you’re targeted by these people, you’re at their mercy. So the best thing you can do is do your best to avoid being targeted.
