U.S. Secretary of StateMike Pompeo says proceeds from Iranian gasoline seized from oil tankers bound for Venezuela could reach “American victims of state terrorism.”
The U.S. Department of Justice has confirmed that it has seized the cargo of four oil tankers, Luna, Pandi, Bering, and Bella, in recent days for violating U.S. sanctions.
In his press briefing on Friday, August 14, at the White House, President Donald Trump said that the seized tankers would be sent to Houston, but did not elaborate.
The seized tankers were reportedly bound for Venezuela with 1.1 million barrels of Iranian gasoline. However, Iran has denied the allegations, saying the United States intends to wage a “psychological war.”
In a tweet, Iran’s ambassador to Venezuela, Hojat Soltani, rejected as “fake news” the U.S. claim of seizing the four tankers.
“Yet another lie and psychological warfare by the US propaganda machine. The tankers are neither Iranians, nor their owners or flags have anything to do with Iran. The terrorist Trump just wants to cover up the humiliation of his failure against the great nation of Iran by scattering false propaganda,” the ambassador tweeted.
Nonetheless, Mike Pompeo tweeted on Friday that he was pleased the Justice Department has confiscated Iranian gasoline that had been illegally sent to the Venezuelan government.
He added that if the gasoline proceeds are forfeited in U.S. courts, they could go to the U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund “instead of the hands of terrorists.”
It’s not clear to me why the Justice Department would be seizing ships in international waters. Does the Justice Department have a Navy? Who would have physically done this? With the Iranians saying it didn’t happen, there is definitely room for questions here. I know the FBI does operate internationally, but I was not aware that they had the capacity to seize ships in international waters.
Then you question what on earth Iranian oil shipments to Venezuela would have to do with the Justice Department. Like, why would they even have offices of people that were aware of this? Aren’t these types of things handled by the likes of the State Department?
Pompeo is saying he’s going to divvy up the booty, but he’s thanking the Justice Department for making the actual steal.

Attorney General Barr is making no statement on it.
We should keep in mind that it is possible this actually is fake news, that no ships were seized, that the government is just saying this as part of some scheme. We now need to be critical of anything that we are told has happened, because anything could be a staged hoax.
That said, they could have done it. They can do whatever they want, as long as it’s in-line with the Jewish agenda.
This government is just a complete free-for-all when it comes to doing anything that Jews approve of.
If you want to do something Jews don’t approve of, you’re going to meet resistance, of course. The Jews have shown zero desire to repay Trump for all that he’s done for their country, to the point where it is actually pathological that Trump keeps helping them.
If Trump’s people harass Iran in illegal ways likely to stoke global chaos and instability for no reason other than that Jews want it to happen, the US media ignores it.
They’re not talking about why the Justice Department is stealing oil tankers, or what right Mike Pompeo has to plunder the cargo and distribute the cash, despite the fact that this is something that would actually upset a lot of right-wingers that otherwise support Trump.
No, instead they’re talking about a federal mask law.
