China is developing serious AI already. And they’re doing it open source, as it should be. DeepSeek is set up right now to dominate ChatGPT in a matter of months.
Russians have some good programmers too, though thus far there’s been nothing remarkable from them on the AI front.
RT:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government and Sberbank, the country’s largest bank and a tech innovator, to team up with China to further develop artificial intelligence.
The directive, issued after an AI-themed conference in December, tasks Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Sberbank CEO Herman Gref with spearheading the initiative. A progress report is expected by April 2025.
The partnership aims to tap into China’s AI expertise, which is recognized as being among the world’s most advanced. Sberbank, a leader in developing AI in Russia, has looked to China as a key inspiration for many of its projects. Alexander Vedyakhin, the bank’s first deputy chairman, recently credited China’s AI breakthroughs with shaping Sberbank’s own ambitions.
The Western dream of AI being controlled by a few massive companies based in America is already over. As it turns out, this AI is not really that difficult to develop.
DeepSeek is running on a lower cost GPU than ChatGPT and giving similar or even better outputs.
The basic fact is that the Chinese are simply more competent than the diversity cesspit that is Silicon Valley. While Elon might be able to fuel-inject the GDP by replacing the remaining white people with sewer mutants, this is ultimately going to result in the downfall of American technology competitiveness.
White people could compete with the Chinese. I think it would be fair competition. But Silicon Valley companies are all now de facto Indian companies, because Silicon Valley CEOs have determined that Indians are culturally superior to whites. This has effectively ended the tech race. China already won.
