Efforts to cancel singer Roisin Murphy for her views on puberty blockers have failed, with the singer’s new album is set to claim the number two spot on the UK charts.
Trans activists called for the former Moloko front woman to be cancelled after a Facebook comment she posted slamming the treatments resurfaced online.
However, the success of her new album Hit Parade has silenced those who tried to cancel her.
The album has been released to rave reviews and is on track to be her highest charting yet.

The Irish singer was forced to apologise last month after she made comments which condemned the use of puberty blockers by transgender youth.
In the comment, she described puberty blockers as “f*****” and said that “little mixed up kids” needed to be “protected”.
Puberty blockers are medical treatments that can pause the physical changes of puberty, such as breast development or facial hair, according to the NHS.
She criticised the medical treatments on her private Facebook page, stating: “Puberty blockers are f***ed, absolutely desolate, big pharma laughing all the way to the bank. Little mixed-up kids are vulnerable and need to be protected, that’s just true.”
She later apologised for triggering an “eruption of damaging and potentially dangerous social media fire and brimstone”.

Two of Roisin’s acoustic shows and singings at record store, Rough Trade East London have been cancelled at short notice. No official reason has been given as to why.
However, fans believe the decision is a prime example of efforts to cancel her.
The singer confirmed that proceeds from the record would not be going to trans charities, despite speculation that her record label Ninja Tunes would donate the earnings.
“Well, those reports were unconfirmed by the label. They have made no official statement whatsoever and they are not intending to donate proceeds from the record to charity. I checked,” she said after a fan asked her about Ninja Tunes’ apparent plans to give away the album’s earnings.
So funny she’s calling out tranny charities. Very good.
