SJW Couple Rewrites ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ as Original is Wrongfully Slandered as a Rape Song

I’ve heard attacks being made against this song many times, but to hear the new and ‘improved’ version is just downright sad.

There comes a moment in many people’s lives when they realize something startling: “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is kind of a creepy song.

I remember having this epiphany during a holiday break in college. I was driving through my hometown, listening to Christmas carols on the radio as snow fell from the sky.

The festive vibes were oh so strong—until I started thinking about the carol I was singing.

Basically, the song is about a guy intensely coaxing a woman to stay the night. Maybe back in 1944, when Frank Loesser penned the hit, it didn’t seem creepy—but it sure feels that way today.

And this year, a couple of heroes decided to tweak the song for the better. Minneapolis songwriting duo (and real-life couple) Lydia Liza and Josiah Lemanski sat down and rewrote the song this month, giving it a whole new meaning that’s big on consent.

More than 4 million people have tuned in. To Liza, changing the song lyrics felt personal.

“We started thinking of the open-ended questions that song has. You never figure out if she gets to go home. You never figure out if there was something in her drink. It just leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth,” Liza told CNN.

“Emphasizing consent is one of the causes that I’ve always really been behind because I don’t think I can think of one friend of mine who’s a woman who hasn’t been in dangerous situations with men. I’ve always cared about this so much.”

They’re right…we never do find out if she gets home at night! I didn’t know songs supposed to nicely tie up all ends. Why didn’t they add an extra minute to the song and put in detail how the rest of the night went? Liberals are too dumb to work it out for themselves it would seem.

If you think about it, there are a lot of songs that leave us hanging. Does the little boy in ‘Row, Row, Row, Your Boat’ make it home or does he drown? In ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ does she get what she wants? Or does the Patriarchy make sure that she spends Christmas alone and sad?

Giving a feminist that equal treatment they so desperately desire 

If they want to find out what happens to the couple in the clip, they can always venture outside of their degenerate movie box and watch the film to find out what happens next! (SPOILER ALERT: I don’t think she gets raped!)

I don’t know any individual who has listened to Baby It’s Cold Outside and taken it word for word. It must be so scary for these liberals to see two traditional adults having intelligent discourse with each other.

Everything to these liberals is word for word, black and white and everything is rape.

But to be fair, these feminists don’t have real boyfriends (faggot White Knights don’t count) so they don’t understand that joyful and playful feeling of not wanting your loved one to go.

What positive consent doesn’t look like: Refusing to take “no” as someone’s answer. That’s where the problem with “Baby It’s Cold Outside” lies.

It’s not that the man is literally forcing himself on the woman, it’s that he’s dismissing her hesitance and even her “no.” She says she ought to say, “No, no,” and in the 1944 version, the man responds by saying, “Mind if I move in closer?” It’s like, step back man and accept that this woman is clearly on the fence about hooking up with you.

Discuss that—don’t just dismiss it. The 2016 update by Liza and Lemanski gets it right, having the man say, “You reserve the right to say no,” instead of just having the guy keep creeping. He’s actually listening to her.

Sure, maybe you think I’m some crazy PC person for liking the updated version of the song. “It’s no big deal,” you might be thinking. But it is a big deal.

We live in a country where every 109 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted, according to RAINN.

That means in the time you listen to “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” one if not two people (depending on the rendition you listen to) have been sexually assaulted.

And it’s a stat like this that makes it hard to stomach a song that doesn’t show positive consent hitting the airwaves every single year.

Every time you do anything a bunch of women have been sexually assaulted. That’s totally relevant to the song!

Do these people only watch movies that display consent? Their playlists are free from modern artists I hope? Majority of modern artists push the idea that women are sex objects, which leads to a society that has warped ideas and is more to blame for rapists than this song from 1944.

Do these feminists watch porn? Or are they the feminists that push that women can love porn too! An industry that not only abuses women, but sure enough every rapist has sat down and enjoyed.

And are liberals so blind that they listen to the song and think the woman actually wants to leave? She wants to stay. And his giving her reasons to justify her stay. It’s 1944. A woman staying over at a lover’s house would most likely make people talk so he is playfully giving her an alibi.

The fact that I even feel like I have to explain the song is insane to me, but a simple English lesson can wipe away all their worries about the song.

And we all know how much shitlibs love to take things out of context and only quote things half way, but you cannot post everywhere ‘omg she says ‘what’s in this drink?‘ IT’S DATE RAPE!’ and totally ignore the storyline behind the song.

I’d like to ask a feminist what doesn’t count as rape. Being their doormat, maybe?

I just wish feminists would stop butchering Christmas Songs and taking away from what rape actually is. They’ve never been raped, they’ve never been assaulted, they don’t know what it means to actually be held somewhere against your own will or feel threatened.

If they think this song is date rape then they’ve got a big surprise coming if they ever do find themselves in a troubling situation.
