A young girl was raped in the Sigurd area in Västerås on Friday night, Swedish media outlet Fria Tider reports.
The girl was was pushed to the ground, after which the perpetrator raped her, police say on their website.
Earlier that evening, the girl presumably met a man she did not know. Near 10 pm she met the man again in Sigurdsområdet in Västerås.
“Then the man attacks the girl and throws her to the ground. He rapes her and disappears,” the police report.
The rape took place at some time between 10:00-11:30 pm on Friday. After midnight the “minor woman” was able to alert the police and report that she has been raped in the area around the train station in Västerås.
Later that night a man between the ages of 25-30 was arrested on suspicion of the rape. According to the local newspaper http://vlt.se , the arrested person has been interrogated by the police and will be questioned further on Saturday or Sunday. He denies the rape.
