I’m working on a book entitled “The Failures of Elon Musk.”
It’s going to be the longest book ever written.
I’m going to put that picture of him looking at the Jewish crib on the cover.
This guy just can’t catch a break.
He can’t catch a gas pedal either.
Tesla is recalling 3,878 Cybertrucks to fix an accelerator pedal pad that could come loose and get lodged in the interior trim, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Friday.
A trapped accelerator pedal could cause the vehicle to accelerate unintentionally, increasing the risk of a crash, the auto safety regulator said in a notice.
Tesla started deliveries of its Cybertruck electric pickup truck late last year, after a two-year delay due to production problems and battery-supply constraints.
The company’s shares fell nearly 3% before the bell on Friday, adding to its five-session losing streak during which the stock lost about 14%.
I predicted a recall based on the fact that the automatic trunk could easily cut your fingers clean off. That apparently hasn’t come up yet, but somebody is going to have their hand sitting there at some point and they’re going to lose their fingers.
Actually, their fingers will probably be successfully sewn back on. But they’ll have a hard time typing for the rest of their life.
This would not address the root issue.
The pedal could still get caught in the same way if that rivet in the paper thin sheet metal failed.
If this is the fix I would be worried about the engineering and review processes going on over there.— its me (@ByWhatMeasure) April 19, 2024
