So an organization that promotes some unknown number of human genders and also the switching between genders is accusing someone else of saying things that aren’t true.
Interesting.
Also interesting: the UN “Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression and Opinion” is tasked with the job of judging what is true and false, based on an unclear standard, and to then publicly condemn people who engage in freedom of expression and opinion in a way he disagrees with.
It is so tired to keep saying “this is 1984.” But actually, it is.
The President of the United States is the “worst” perpetrator of misinformation on the internet, the U.N. Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression and Opinion David Kaye said in an interview published today.
“Governments are real offenders when it comes to disinformation,” said Kaye. “In my own country, the United States, the worst perpetrator of false information is the President of the United States.”
The problem of fake news emanating from governments should be covered by journalists, the rapporteur said.
Platforms such as Google, Facebook or Twitter can help the broader fight against disinformation — bots, foreign interference… — but should not remove content, Kaye said. “The platforms, I think, can do things that are more technical as long as they are not evaluating content. There are things they can do. They can’t just zap it and say, “This is fake news, it’s off the platform.”
According to Kaye, platforms should focus on reducing spam and bot accounts rather than on policing content. And even bots are “tricky, because there are good bots and bad bots.”
Well, I actually like that position.
Though it is different than the position of every other single globalist organization, and I have never heard this UN person say this before, so apparently he isn’t saying it very loudly, and also apparently he has no sway over social media platforms.
Presumably, the United Nations – as well as he as an individual person – do not actually believe in freedom of expression, and simply make that claim so that their other claims hold more weight.
Because “other things they can do” is unclear. Talk about “fake news needing tackled” is virtually always a codeword for “shut it down.”
I am so tired of being shut down.
