This is extremely unexpected.
A third suspect is now behind bars for the murder of an Abilene teen who was shot and killed over the weekend.
Jerel Mathis, 18, has been arrested for Murder and Aggravated Robbery in connection to the death of Bronson Boyles, 19.
Two other suspects, D’Jaman West, 19, and D’Audre Hight-Ealy, 20, have also been arrested on the same charges for the murder of Boyles.
Boyles was shot Friday just before midnight and passed away early Saturday morning after being transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Court documents state witnesses saw West get into an altercation with Boyles at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of South Clack Street.
These witnesses told police that sometime during the confrontation, they heard a gunshot, and when they looked up, they saw West holding a gun over Boyles, according to the documents.
The documents also state a GPS device issued to West as part of a recent probation order confirmed West was in the area of the apartment complex at the time Boyles was shot and killed
