The Mouse Utopia experiment was conducted on a population of mice where they were given the most optimal environment for them to live and reproduce in. The results were shockingly that the population eventually declined to the point of complete loss of the population.
There were also references to immigration of species into another species territory as a cause of a species extinction or decline.
