When will the New York Times call for banning Blacks?

LSJ:

The second trial of Ahmad Davis, who is charged with shooting and killing a Lansing man after a home invasion last year, began today. A jury failed to reach a verdict in July.

Davis, who is 29 and lives in Lansing, faces murder, armed robbery, first-degree home invasion and two weapons charges in connection with the shooting death of 30-year-old Jo Lee Van Buren in May of last year.

Rachel Johnson, with whom Van Buren lived and dealt drugs, earlier testified that Van Buren fought a masked gunman who broke into their home in the 1300 block of Roosevelt Avenue and demanded money. Johnson earlier testified that she heard two gunshots after running outside for help, and found Van Buren bleeding to death on the floor and the suspect gone when she returned. Van Buren later died at a local hospital from a shotgun wound to the chest.

In opening statements this morning, Assistant Ingham County Prosecutor Michael Cheltenham said the new trial will center on blood found inside the home and on the pavement outside matching a DNA profile of Davis.

A forensic scientist will testify there is a “1 in 110.9 quintillion” chance the blood matches someone other than Davis, Cheltenham said. He showed photos of a gunshot wound to Van Buren’s left hand and bruises on his right hand as evidence of the fight between the men.

“At the end of this trial there will be no doubt that Ahmad Davis was there,” he said. He said Johnson, who has been granted immunity in the case, will testify in the new trial. Her 911 call to police will be played, he said.

Davis’ attorney, John Frawley, said police stopped investigating the case after discovery of DNA evidence, despite leads to as many as four other possible suspects. He said Johnson’s earlier description of the suspect is unreliable because his face was covered with a mask, and that she initially lied to police about the incident.
