Trump on Recognition of Crimea: “We’re Gonna Have to See”

I knew it.

Reunifying Korea was just a warmup for REUNIFYING RUSSIA!

RT:

In comments sure to ruffle some ‘Russiagate’ feathers, Donald Trump hinted that he may consider recognizing Crimea as a part of Russia. The remark comes two weeks before his historic summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

US President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Friday, was asked if Washington would accept Russia’s claim to Crimea. The president laconically replied: “We’re going to have to see.”

“I’ll talk to him about everything,” Trump said in reply to another question about the topic of Crimea at the much-anticipated summit. “We’re going to be talking about Ukraine, we’re going to be talking about Syria, we’ll be talking about elections, and we don’t want anybody tampering with elections.”

The much-anticipated meeting between Putin and Trump, their first held outside of a multilateral summit, is set for July 16 in Helsinki, Finland. “A full range of issues” are set to be discussed by the leaders when they finally get together, including arms control, alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election, and Moscow rejoining the G8.

My hopes are very high now, guys.

I hope my hopes are not crushed.

But everything has just been going so beautifully.

So beautifully.

It just feels like this Russia summit is going to be a coming to the giant head.

Maybe Crimea recognition is a bit much to expect from this meeting.

But he Tweeted last week that there is STILL no evidence that Russia “meddled” in any way in our elections. So simply settling that matter would be a massive win.

Really, much bigger than Crimea is ending this farce that someone other than YOU AND ME AND OUR PEOPLE elected Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America.

If Trump just comes out and says “yeah, Putin, great guy, good man, I like him and respect him, very talented, a very talented man, we are good friends, but he didn’t make me President – the AMERICAN PEOPLE MADE ME PRESIDENT.”

And there are other things. Just ending the sanctions.

The thing here is, with Korea, they had something to concede.

What does Russia really have to cede?

They haven’t done anything wrong, and there is nothing that they can stop doing.

I guess they could cede Donbass, but that isn’t really fair, and I don’t know if Putin would be willing to do it.

It would be impossible to cede relations with Iran/Syria, of course.

What else does the West even want from Russia? It’s not even clear. They just want to destroy the country. They don’t have like, a comprehensive list of demands. They don’t even keep a list of their lies, because as soon as one gets exposed they bury it and move on to the next.

The only constants are that they should stop fighting Jewish-backed terrorists in the Ukraine and the Middle East, and that they should give Crimea back to the Jews who tried to steal it.

Maybe before the meeting Putin should like, invade Latvia and Estonia so he has something to cede in a deal.
