The Great White Hope.
The Great White Hope.

Well, this made me feel warm inside.

We missed it when it happened, but back on Friday, at a rally in Texas, The Donald referred to the White French as “our people.”

I’ll tell you what: you can say what you want, but if they had guns — if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry

It would have been a much, much different situation.

I’d think this was not a calculated statement, but that as a White man, in this situation, it was simply natural to refer to White French as “us.” Because they surely are not “them.”

Or maybe it was a calculated statement for his racist fans to find. One thing is clear, the media didn’t find it, or didn’t think it was worth commenting on.

The implications of this one statement really kick it up a notch. There is a big difference between “this is America, our country” and “we stand with our racial brethren across the Atlantic.”

It’s not surprising. In many ways, Donald Trump now embodies the White American collective consciousness, and I know when I saw the pictures of Paris, I thought “our people.”

France even named a castle after me, you know.

In the future, castles will be named after The Donald. Also, there should be more Anglin castles.

Here’s the full Texas speech where the statement was made.
