Trump Says He’d Invade Venezuela

This is not a big deal. But it is noteworthy to have Trump talking casually about invading a country in the middle of this lockdown.

RT:

US President Donald Trump has dismissed claims the foiled plot to kidnap Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro had government backing, insisting he’d have done it differently – as a proper “invasion” with an “army.”

Trump called in to Fox & Friends on Friday to pour cold water on the idea that the mercenaries arrested earlier this week attempting to land at the northern tip of Venezuela were on official business from Washington.

“If we ever did anything with Venezuela, it wouldn’t be that way. It’d be slightly different. It’d be called an invasion.”

“If I wanted to go into Venezuela I wouldn’t make a secret about it,” Trump said.

Trump dismissed the failed raiders as a “rogue group,” smirking that “it wasn’t led by General George Washington, obviously” and reiterating that stealth wasn’t his style.

This “I’ll invade you to prove it” stuff is the same pseudo-masculinity we had during the Bush Wars.

I’m not anti-war on principle. On principle, I wouldn’t even be against invading third world countries just to be like “screw you assholes.”

It would be one thing if we had our stuff taken care of at home and the president was saying “I’ll invade you” to foreign nations. But to do so when he has virtually no control at all over his own government comes across as babyish.

Like bro, you act like you’re running this country and actually it’s run by Jewish terrorists who hate you and hate the people, and they just locked down the country based on a flu hoax for the explicit purpose of wiping out all the people who voted for you. Maybe we should be dealing with that situation instead of making belligerent threats to irrelevant South American shitholes, eh?

I hope Trump will try to focus more on real issues in the coming weeks and months.
