Trump Says Singapore Summit Officially Back On

I’m so sick of this jerk around.

Politico:

President Donald Trump held an extraordinary Oval Office meeting with Kim Jong Un’s deputy on Friday, after which he snapped a chummy photo with the North Korean official and announced that the historic summit with Kim is back on.

“We‘ll be meeting on June 12 in Singapore,“ Trump told reporters on the South Lawn of the White House after escorting Kim Yong Chol, Kim Jong Un‘s second in command, into a vehicle.

However, Trump tempered expectations for what the meeting in Singapore will yield, saying nothing would be signed during the summit and that it would simply be the beginning of a process toward denuclearizing North Korea.

“It‘s a process. … We’re not going to go in and sign something on June 12 and we never will,“ the president said. “We‘re going to start a process.“

So, we’ll see the truth come out on the 12th.

Trump is either going to negotiate a real deal – something he is more than capable of doing with people who are desperately desiring a deal – or he’s going to purposefully make it impossible to make a deal.

That will tell us the direction things are going in with regards to foreign policy – is Bolton in charge, or is Trump carrying out the mandate of the people?

If Trump says “oh we tried but it didn’t work out” and we return to the status quo of war threats, then you’ll know Bolton is responsible.

This is a sign of what is to happen at the upcoming Trump-Putin summit.

Which is allegedly coming up.

The Hill:

The White House is preparing for a potential summit between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

Jon Huntsman, the U.S. ambassador to Russia, is helping to set up the meeting, though the planning is still in its early stages, the Journal reported.

“This has been an ongoing project of Ambassador Huntsman, stretching back months, of getting a formal meeting between Putin and Trump,” a senior administration official told the Journal.

If it comes to fruition, the summit would be the third meeting between Trump and Putin. The two leaders met on the sidelines of Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, last July and again in Vietnam during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam in November.

During a phone call between the two leaders in March, Trump extended an invitation to Putin to come to Washington.

Trump ran on a very, very explicitly pro-peace platform. It was the second issue to immigration of importance to the voters.

Everything he does that is anti-peace is a betrayal of his voters, the people who worked to get him elected.

I personally worked very hard to get this man elected. And I don’t believe that without the Alt-Right meme squad, he would have been elected.

And though I knew from the start there would be some Jews hanging around, having John Bolton in the White House pressing for war with the entire world feels like a personal betrayal.

Of course, for a long time the reasoning was “oh Trump has to do this because of the Russia probe and these Jews all on his back.”

Okay.

Fine.

I accepted that.

But the Russia probe is just about over now.

They lost, we won.

So let’s do what you said you were going to do, eh Mr. President?
