Okay, dude.
Whatever bro.
President Trump told Fox News medical contributor Marc Siegel on Wednesday that he’s in an impossible situation regarding whether he should be the first to take a coronavirus vaccine.
“Well, you know the way it works. If I’m the first one they’ll say ‘he’s so selfish. He wanted to get the vaccine first,” Trump told Siegel. “Then other people would say ‘hey, that’s a very brave thing to do’.”
“I would absolutely, if they wanted me to and thought it was right, I’d take it first or I’d take it last.”
Trump’s dilemma comes the same day that pharmaceutical company Pfizer and biotech firm BioNTech said that the U.S. government has placed a $1.95 billion order for 100 million doses of their COVID-19 vaccine. An additional 500 million doses could be acquired by the Department of Health and Human Services should the vaccine prove safe and effective.
The two companies are jointly developing four potential vaccines, one of which will begin the first of three phases of trial testing later this month on 30,000 participants.
“Expanding Operation Warp Speed’s diverse portfolio by adding a vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech increases the odds that we will have a safe, effective vaccine as soon as the end of this year,” Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Wednesday.
“Depending on success in clinical trials, today’s agreement will enable the delivery of approximately 100 million doses of this vaccine to the American people.”
Trump is apparently feeling pressure to show his support for vaccination.
“You do know that if I take it first, either way I lose on that one. If I don’t take it they’ll say ‘he doesn’t believe in the program’,” Trump told Siegel Wednesday.
It is totally unclear what the hell this guy is doing.
Apparently, that whole “losing votes with white women” thing has gone to his head, so he’s going full-on coronavirus shill.
I don’t want to take this vaccine, I don’t want my family to take this vaccine, and I don’t want my president to take this vaccine. I think that it is likely to cause serious problems, including possibly brain damage. That is bad for the president, who is already struggling with age-related cognitive deterioration.
We need this guy on the ball. We do not need to use him as a medical experiment.
Furthermore, we don’t need him promoting this experiment to the people.
People are not excited about this.
They are rushing it through and there is zero chance it will be safe.
Furthermore, by the time it is available, everyone will have had the virus, making this all extra retarded.
I understand that they’re saying people can get it more than once, but that is just not the reality of viruses. Yes, it is possible to get it more than once, but it’s extremely rare. And if someone can get it more than once, guess what? They can also get it after having the vaccine.
We need to start using real science instead of paid shills working for Bill Gates like Anthony Fauci and Madam Birx. Both of these individuals are on the Gates payroll. This is an extreme and obviously illegal conflict of interests, and Trump should be attacking that instead of embracing the lunacy.
At this point, the situation is so dire that the only thing I care about is Trump winning. But when the 45% of people who don’t want the coronavirus vaccine overlaps more or less 100% with Trump voters, having Trump shill for this vaccine hurts his chances at winning the election.
Surely, someone around him knows this?
Surely.
We can’t expect him to know everything, which is why he needs people around him who are up on things and can read data.
I understand that he needs to act like he cares about the virus. I get that and I’m okay with that. He needs to appeal to that white woman demographic that voted for him in 2016. But he doesn’t need to alienate the overwhelming majority of his voters by shilling this doom vaccine.
What’s more, if he would play up the angle that the mob is going to start killing people, and that he will protect the people from the mob, that would not only secure the vote of the white women who voted for him in 2016, but probably some of the white women – and men – who voted against him in 2016.
Fear of the virus is an abstract, weird thing. Fear of a mob coming to your house to kill you is much more visceral and real. Yes, a lot of white women support the black mob, but they probably don’t want to actually be killed by it, and are more doing that for social signaling reasons, and because of a sexual fixation with blacks.
When it comes down to it, most people do not want to have blacks break into their home at night and torture and rape them before slitting their throats.
