I did not see this one coming. I mean, it’s not surprising, but it really is a staggering move.
To be clear: The Ukraine could already strike “deep inside Russia” with drones, and all they ever used them for was trying to kill civilians in Moscow.
It’s possible the Times is lying about this, but it doesn’t seem like it.

US President Joe Biden has reportedly authorized Ukraine to use long-range American missiles to strike targets inside Russia’s pre-2014 borders, according to a New York Times report on Sunday citing anonymous American officials.
The decision, if accurately conveyed by the newspaper, marks a major shift in Washington’s policy and will raise the stakes in the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.
The White House has yet to comment publicly on the matter.

I mean, how the fuck. Biden just lost an election on a mass mandate that included opposition to the Ukraine war, and during the transfer period, the losing side decides to turn the war up to 11?
This is designed to bully Donald Trump into prolonging the war after it is totally out of control, or to force Russia to back down in the hopes that Trump will end the war.

The report states that Ukraine is expected to deploy the Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) against Russian forces and alleged North Korean troops in Russia’s Kursk Region, where fierce fighting is ongoing. The supposed presence of North Korean forces has been used as part of the justification for the policy change, though there is no verified proof of Pyongyang’s troops operating in Russia.

Zelensky is praising the US for the decision, which makes it very likely the times report is real. Biden’s refusal to address it also implies it’s real.

Putin has said he will start firing nukes. Zelensky will not target military targets, those are all defended. He is going to attack oil fields and kill random people in Moscow. Frankly, Kiev should be nuked, as well as Berlin, Brussels, Paris, New York, Washington, and every city in Canada.
Let’s just do it already.
