Tucker Carlson went out on a major limb and interviewed the aggressive anti-Semite and freedom fighting hero, former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters, on the persecution of Julian Assange by the US Justice Department.
Roger Waters is a bitter old man who hates everyone, so he had some trouble getting through the interview. At one point, when Waters talks about how interesting it is that the DOJ is not prosecuting the New York Times and other publications that all published the same information as WikiLeaks, Tucker says “that is a fascinating question,” and Waters replies, “well, thank you.”
It’s almost as if he’s aware of how absolutely unpleasant he is and takes pleasure in that.
Waters’ main point is that Assange is being made an example of so that other journalists will be afraid to publish any information that the ruling establishment doesn’t want published. It is to create a chilling effect.
Bringing on someone who is best known for being the world’s number one anti-Israel activist is a really bold move.
Great work from Tucker.
It totally makes up for his rather basic views on China.
I do want to just take this time to point out that actually, David Gilmour is a much better musician than Roger Waters, despite being a much nicer person and not a bitter angry old man.
The Wall is an amazing album.
But how much of that was actually Gilmour, and he’s just too nice of a person to stick up for himself when mean old Waters says it was all his work?
Pink Floyd has been a part of my life since I was a teenager, but it was only after I turned 30 that I really began to be able to appreciate The Division Bell. I recommend that any of you who are over 25 give it a try.
The album is basically a Gilmour solo album, and in several songs, he describes his relationship with Waters.
In “Lost for Words” he talks about how he tried to make up with Waters after the breakup, and Waters told him to go fuck himself.
Can you see your days blighted by darkness?
Is it true you beat your fists on the floor?
Stuck in a world of isolation
While the ivy grows over the doorSo I open my door to my enemies
And I ask could we wipe the slate clean?
But they tell me to please go fuck myself
You know you just can’t win
This isn’t to say Waters isn’t a great musician.
He is.
But he is a better “angry bitter old man who hates everyone, especially the JEWS” than he is a musician.
Because he is literally the best angry old man of all time.
If I live to be that old, you are going to see me give him a run for his money though, I can promise you that.
I already hate more things than most old men.
