Sending athletes to play in foreign countries is a time-tested way for countries to foster mutual cultural understanding.
And what better way to show the Chinese what modern day America’s all about then to have three of our blacks rob their Louis Vuitton store!
One of the three UCLA basketball-Americans in Chinese custody is LiAngelo Ball. This fellow wasn’t exactly Jean Valjean stealing bread to feed his starving children (what liberals think all black criminals are), the Ball family is very wealthy. “LiAngelo” has brothers in the NBA and the family even have their own reality TV show.
This is just out of control blacks acting like out of control blacks. Somehow the entire “human race” is to blame!
UCLA and Georgia Tech finally played their season-opening college basketball game in China after nearly a week of drama surrounding an alleged shoplifting incident involving three Bruins players. UCLA great Bill Walton, who was doing color commentary for the ESPN broadcast, wants everyone to know that the school and everyone associated with it is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very sorry for all of this.
Very.
“I am sad, disappointed and embarrassed. This is a very big deal,” Walton said as the game tipped off late Friday night on the U.S. East Coast. “The noble purpose here has been stained. Our host, Alibaba China, the people, they have been better than perfect in everything. They’ve done everything right to make this all work. Now members of our family have displayed an appalling lack of honor, a lack of respect, a lack of decency by doing something in someone else’s home that they would never do in their own. And I want to apologize right now on behalf of the human race for this travesty.”
Stealing and grand larceny are a big deal in civilized countries like China. A crime like this could net a Chinese national serious jail time.
The Judenpress is operating under the assumption that they will be back in the US in a couple of weeks. The reason they assume this is they believe Trump will demand Chinese leader Xi release them without any punishment when they meet this week.
But why assume anything about President Trump? Isn’t he a racist?
Americans in China (mostly white) are locked up for crimes all the time, and nobody goes there to tell the government American visitors are above the law.
Yet here they expect the same black privilege that informs our justice system be imported to China. For all the talk about “criminal justice reform,” blacks are less likely of getting prosecuted for a felony than whites.
The idea that the criminal-justice system discriminates against blacks — and that this bias explains blacks’ disproportionate presence in custody — is a staple of civil-rights activism and of the academic Left. Every effort to prove it empirically, however, has come up short. A 1994 Justice Department survey of felony cases from the country’s 75 largest urban areas discovered that blacks actually had a lower chance of prosecution following a felony than whites did and that they were less likely to be found guilty at trial. Alfred Blumstein has found that blacks are underrepresented in prison for homicide compared with their arrest rates. A meta-analysis of charging and sentencing studies showed that “large racial differences in criminal offending,” not racism, explained why more blacks were in prison proportionately than whites and for longer terms, according to criminologists Robert Sampson and Janet Lauritsen.
Do the right thing Trump: ignore this case, don’t play ball!
