Now either these young teenagers have realized the truth and thought it would be good to see a flaming swastika, or someone is trying to make them look bad.
Considering there has been no vandalism of their outdoor meeting place until now, it could well be the second option.
Especially since the Jews are desperately trying to regain their ‘victim’ status.
A Stevenage principal is “appalled” after yobs broke into the school field and made a “massive” flaming swastika.
The symbol – which was notoriously adopted by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis as their logo – was lit on the field of the Thomas Alleyne Academy in High Street.
Its blackened remains were spotted today (August 27) by a local dog walker, who said youths had been gathering on the field since the start of the summer holidays.
Speaking anonymously, they said: “I think from the beginning of the school holidays there have been kids gathering there, riding around on motorcycles, drinking beer and socialising – about 20 of them.
“The reason it is very concerning to me is I walk my dog up The Avenue – a footpath which runs alongside the school field – and the kids have been riding their motorbikes up and down it.
“I’m concerned my dog is going to be run over by the motorcycles, but also there is a kindergarten play area opposite the school, where kids less than five years old go. I have seen the motorbikes sometimes at midday.”
They continued: “The group hasn’t caused any vandalism until recently. They have just been gathering in the corner of the field and having barbecues.
“Now they have cut a massive swastika into the running track, about three inches deep, put lighter fluid at the bottom of it and set fire to it.
“My heart just sank. This is on another level for me. It’s anti-semitic, bigoted and thoughtless. The kids probably don’t realise the significance of it.”
The dog walker estimated the group of teenagers was mostly aged 16 and over, but said children as young as 12 formed part of the group.
They added: “The kids need somewhere to go but I wish they would go somewhere else, especially with the motorcycles.
“They are probably nice kids who don’t realise what they are doing but it’s thoughtless.”
Thomas Alleyne principal, Mark Lewis, said: “We are appalled by the nature of the vandalism that has taken place on our field.
“Whilst our site is secure and our students are safe during our extended opening hours, we have experienced problems with trespassers accessing our playing fields in the evenings and at weekends in the past.
“Last summer we installed additional fencing at great expense to the academy which was unfortunately vandalised within a month.
“We are currently exploring alternative options to secure this area outside of school opening hours and are working closely with the police regarding the specific acts of vandalism.
“If anybody has information about these incidents, please feel free to contact us on admin@tas.herts.sch.uk.”
Sergeant Jim Moatt, of the Stevenage North Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We are aware of the issues regarding groups of youths congregating in the evenings in local playing fields and local officers have been regularly patrolling the area.
“Several youths have already been spoken to and advice given where appropriate regarding their behaviour.
“However we would ask local residents to contact us if they continue to have concerns regarding these groups and to detail as much information about their behaviour as possible.”
He continued: “With regards to the swastika on the Thomas Alleyne playing fields, we are fully investigating this incident and would ask for any witnesses or anyone with any information which may help our inquiries, to contact the Stevenage Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 as soon as possible.
“Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
