Originally the authorities tried to pin the blame for the insulin poisonings at Stockport Hospital (pictured) on a young White woman. She has had to quit nursing after all the negative publicity she received.

Charged in March, over two years after his arrest, the 48-year-old, of Churchill Street, Stockport, faces 34 counts in total, including three murders. He is alleged to have murdered Tracey Arden on July 7, 2011, and Alfred Weaver and Arnold Lancaster between June 1 and July 12 of that year.

He is also charged with the grievous bodily harm of one patient, poisoning a second, attempting to poison seven more and 22 more counts of attempted grievous bodily harm.

It is alleged there were 32 separate victims between June 1, 2011, and January 3, 2012.
