US Media Describes Azovstal as Being Primarily a “Shelter for Civilians”

Again, I say: the Ukraine coverage is even more absurd than the coronavirus coverage.

This is the top headline this Saturday on Yahoo! News, probably the single most visited news site in America:

Obviously, that headline is meant to imply – and actually just outright states – that the Russian military is storming civilians to murder them. Many or most people only read the headlines.

It’s an AP article.

AP:

Russian forces attacked a steel plant in the shattered Ukrainian port city of Mariupol on Saturday, Ukrainian officials said, apparently seeking to eliminate the last pocket of Ukrainian resistance in the strategic city the Kremlin claims its military has otherwise seized.

The assault was reported by an advisor to Ukraine’s presidential office as an estimated 1,000 civilians sheltered in the Azovstal plant alongside the remaining Ukrainian fighters, while Russian forces pressed their offensive elsewhere in the eastern Donbas region amid fierce Ukrainian counterattacks.

The presidential advisor, Oleksiy Arestovich, said during a briefing that Russian forces had resumed air strikes on the massive seaside plant and were trying to storm it, which would represent a reversal from an order Russian President Vladimir Putin gave two days earlier.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Putin on Thursday that the whole of Mariupol, with the exception of Azovstal, had been “liberated” by the Russians. At the time, Putin ordered him not to send Russian troops into the plant but instead to block off the facility, an apparent attempt to starve out the Ukrainians and force them to surrender.

Ukrainian officials have estimated that about 2,000 of their troops are inside the plant along with the civilians sheltering in the facility’s underground tunnels. Arestovic said the Ukrainian forces were trying to counter the new attacks.

Earlier Saturday, the Azov Regiment of Ukraine’s National Guard, which has members holed up in the plant, released footage of around two dozen women and children, some of whom said they had been in the mill’s underground tunnels for two months and longed to see the sun.

So the headline is that they are storming the civilians, and not until paragraph five do we learn that there are also 2,000 troops there. Not until paragraph six do we learn that those troops are Azov.

For several days, I’ve been talking about the claim that there are civilians in the tunnels. Firstly, we don’t even know that this is true. Secondly, if it is true, they are being held hostage. There is no reason that Azov would not let them out unless they are hostages. Surely, none of the civilians want to starve to death with these satanic neo-Nazis in the hellish bowels of this industrial complex, and would prefer to leave. Russia is blasting the tunnels with requests that the civilians be sent out, and Azov is refusing to let them out. This is not debated, the Western media just doesn’t say it – and because of the massive amount of censorship in the Western media, they don’t have to say it.

I’d say the chances of that being real are zero.

It was either filmed months ago or, more likely, it was filmed on a soundstage in Poland.

If there are civilians still in Azovstal, they are starving to death. If those kids ever were in that hellish labyrinth, they have probably already been eaten by the Azov brigade. Without cannibalism, there is no real explanation as to how these people are still in the tunnels.

Ukie scum on Twitter are claiming there is no humanitarian corridor.

That is the level of information we’re dealing with here. Every element of that blue check Ukie tweet is a lie. Not only does Russia have aid corridors open, they are offering Azov troops the opportunity to surrender.

Russia has intercepted communications of Ukie troops begging to be allowed to surrender, and their commanders are not allowing them. There is zero evidence that Russia shoots at surrendering soldiers or mistreats POWs.

Meanwhile, the hundreds of uploads of videos of Russia getting people out of Azovstal are being systematically deleted by Twitter. Everyone who gets out says that they were being kept as human shields/hostages and starved to death by Azov. This is of course the same thing that everyone who was liberated from the city of Mariupol said weeks ago – that Azov was holding them in the city and shooting anyone who tried to leave.

They were also just shooting random people who weren’t even trying to leave. I assume most of you saw some of the hundreds of videos I posted showing all of this. I wish they’d been uploaded to BitChute as compilations, because it is all getting deleted from Twitter.

You can still find a few mirrors. Here are some civilians being led out of Azovstal by Russian troops.

Here’s the Russian MoD spokesman explaining that holding all of these people underground is yet more proof these people are terrorists.

Again, it seems to me that even without access to real information, that Yahoo! News headline would not make sense to a thinking person. But I guess a thinking person is not relying on Yahoo! News for their information.

Frankly, there is no evidence of the initial claim by the Ukrainians that Russia has began an assault on Azovstal. As stated, Putin ordered the military to just starve them out. There is no evidence that plan has changed, other than that the Ukrainians said it.

Sending Russian soldiers down into these tunnels would be absurd. There is no reason for Russia to lose soldiers by trying to root out these monstrous cowards who fled into these tunnels. Furthermore, the West admits that most Russian forces are leaving Mariupol for the battle of Donbass, with a small force being left behind to keep Azovstal sealed.

From “Winning the War” to “Begging to be Allowed Out of Tunnels We Fled To”

You notice that the “Ukraine is winning the war” narrative has rapidly faded from the media over the last week.

We all knew from the very beginning that the more obvious it became that the Ukraine was not “winning the war,” the media would just progressively drop that from the narrative.

Of course, now we have to wonder why, if the Ukraine is not winning the war, and in fact their most elite battalion – the one most heavily trained by NATO and other Western forces – is holed up like rats begging for aid, the US government is still refusing to engage in any type of diplomacy, and is in fact continuing to flood the country with weapons.

Again: the lives of the Ukrainians mean absolutely nothing to the Western regime or their puppet Zelensky. This “war” was over before it started, there was never any possible way for the Ukrainians to win, and the West is responsible for every single person who has died in this conflict. They should have negotiated neutrality and stopped shelling the Donbass before the Russian invasion. If they were insistent on calling a bluff, then after the invasion began, they should have immediately gone to the negotiating table. Instead, they’ve said that there won’t be any negotiations, and they don’t care how many Ukrainians die – the only thing they care about is being able to put NATO weapons in the Ukraine, and if they can’t have the Ukraine, they will just let the whole country be destroyed.

The proposition by the West to the Ukrainian people was always: “die for NATO membership and a right to continue indiscriminately slaughtering people in the Donbass.” Neither NATO membership nor the slaughter of people in the Donbass by US-trained terrorists affects the lives of normal Ukrainians. Normal Ukrainians have never had a dog in this fight. They are pawns in a war that the West has launched against Russia.
