Surveillance video captures a violent assault and armed robbery in the French Quarter as several bystanders watch nearby.
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of St. Louis.
A passerby is stopped by a group of men and pushed up against a wall. As the victim attempts to flee, he is thrown to the ground. Multiple men kick and punch the man while he’s down.
Police state that the suspects stole the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The victim tells police one of the suspects was armed with a black handgun.
